A bricklayer, also known as a brick mason or bricklayer and stonemason, is a skilled tradesperson who specializes in the construction of structures using bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials. They play a pivotal role in the overall construction process, contributing to the stability and durability of buildings.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine the layout and design of the structure.
  • Preparing and laying bricks, blocks, or stones according to established patterns or designs.
  • Mixing mortar or similar binding substances to create a strong adhesive for brickwork.
  • Ensuring accurate measurements and aligning structures by using levels, plumb bobs, and other tools.
  • Cutting and shaping bricks, stones, or blocks using saws, chisels, or other hand or power tools.
  • Applying mortar to bind bricks or stones and filling gaps with appropriate materials.
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Collaborating with other construction professionals to ensure the finished structure meets specifications.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations and wearing appropriate protective gear.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bricklayer or in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of different bricklaying techniques and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Proficient in using tools and equipment required for bricklaying.
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good English Skills, German language at least on Level A2 or willing to learn
